India and Greece signed a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDoI) to strengthen defence industrial cooperation at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, following bilateral talks between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Greek Minister of National Defence Nikolaos-Georgios Dendias on February 9, 2026. Both countries also exchanged the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan for 2026, outlining joint exercises, training programmes, and strategic engagement.

The JDoI establishes a five-year roadmap for co-development and co-production of defence equipment, aligning India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) initiative with Greece's defence modernisation programme, Agenda 2030. Key focus areas include joint research and development, technology partnerships, and co-production of military hardware. Both ministers affirmed that the India-Greece Strategic Partnership is anchored in shared values of peace, stability, freedom, and mutual respect.

In a significant maritime dimension, Greece announced the positioning of a Greek International Liaison Officer at the Information Fusion Centre–Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR) in Gurugram — reflecting growing Indo-Pacific convergence between the two nations. This agreement deepens India's defence ties with a NATO member state and complements India's broader Indo-Pacific strategy. For Rajasthan, defence manufacturing units in Jodhpur and Kota corridors may benefit from co-production opportunities under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat framework.
