Bamanwas Kankar panchayat in Kotputli-Behror district became the first fully organic-certified panchayat in Rajasthan and North-West India. Comprising seven hamlets, the panchayat formally committed to 100% organic farming and eco-friendly animal husbandry, eliminating chemical fertilisers, pesticides, and synthetic inputs.

The certification was facilitated by COFED (Cofarmin Federation of Organic Societies and Producer Companies), covering 1,500 hectares of farmland and 6,000 cattle. A ceremonial pledge was organised on January 2, 2026. Farmers practise crop rotation, mulching, and biological pest control using traps, with inputs including vermicompost and organic soil conditioners. The achievement sets a model for Rajasthan's broader organic farming mission.
