On March 8, 2026, India won the 10th ICC Men's T20 World Cup, defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final held at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad — becoming the first nation to win the men's T20 World Cup three times. The tournament was co-hosted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), running from February 7 to March 8, 2026. India earned USD 3 million (approximately ₹27.48 crore) as prize money.

Sanju Samson was named Player of the Tournament after scoring 321 runs in just five innings, including the highest individual score (89) in a Men's T20 World Cup final against New Zealand. He became the standout performer despite missing four matches. Jasprit Bumrah claimed 4 wickets for 15 runs in the final — his maiden four-wicket haul in T20Is — and became only the second bowler in history to take a four-for in a Men's T20 World Cup final. Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy jointly topped the tournament wicket charts with 14 scalps each.

Four Indians — Samson, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, and Bumrah — were named in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament. Jasprit Bumrah was named Man of the Match in the final.

For Rajasthan, cricket has a deep cultural connection, with the state providing a significant fanbase and grassroots cricketing talent nurtured through Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) initiatives and franchises like Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
