On November 23, 2025, India's women's blind cricket team created history by winning the inaugural SBI Blind Women's T20 World Cup 2025, defeating Nepal by 7 wickets in the final held at the P Sara Oval, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Restricting Nepal to 114/5, India chased the target in just 12.1 overs with 3 wickets down. Phula Saren's match-winning knock of 44 off 27 balls guided India home. India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament — defeating Sri Lanka, Australia, Nepal, USA and Pakistan in the league phase before overcoming Australia in the semi-final. The tournament, organised by the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) and Cricket for the Blind (CFI) with State Bank of India (SBI) as title sponsor, is the world's first global cricket championship exclusively for women with visual impairment. It marks a landmark step toward inclusion, representation and international recognition for blind women athletes. Rajasthan's Anandpur Sahib-trained players and Jaipur-based Blind Cricket Association have contributed players to national teams in past editions of blind cricket, reflecting the state's growing role in para-sports.
