Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed more than 61,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth across various Government departments and organisations at the 18th Rozgar Mela on 24 January 2026 at 11:00 AM via video conferencing. The nationwide programme was organised simultaneously at 45 selected locations across the country, with the event coordinated through the Ministry of Home Affairs. The recruits will be joining several key Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and Department of Higher Education. Out of the 61,000+ appointment letters in this tranche, nearly 49,200 pertain to the Ministry of Home Affairs and its allied paramilitary forces such as CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB, CISF and Assam Rifles, signalling a major push for internal security recruitment. Addressing the recruits virtually, the Prime Minister described the appointment letters not merely as official documents but as a 'Sankalp Patra' — a pledge and an invitation to participate in nation-building and accelerate the Viksit Bharat development agenda. Since the Rozgar Mela scheme was launched by the Prime Minister in October 2022, more than 11 lakh (1.1 million) appointment letters have been issued through these melas organised across the country. At Group Centre, CRPF Pune, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri distributed letters to 300 selected candidates across CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB, Assam Rifles, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, EPFO and the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery. The initiative is central to the government's drive to fill sanctioned posts and accelerate public sector employment generation.
