Maharashtra became the first Indian state to launch MahaCrimeOS AI, an artificial intelligence platform for AI-powered cybercrime investigation. The platform integrates machine learning algorithms to analyze digital evidence, track cybercriminals, and predict crime patterns. The system is designed to process large volumes of data from social media, financial transactions, and communication networks. It will assist police across all 36 districts in the state. India recorded over 11.28 lakh cybercrime complaints in 2024, a 113% increase over 2022, making AI-assisted investigation critical for law enforcement.
