The Commonwealth Sport Evaluation Committee recommended Ahmedabad (Amdavad), Gujarat, as the host city for the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games in October 2025. The formal election was subsequently held at the Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow on November 26, 2025, where Ahmedabad was officially confirmed. India will host the games for the first time since the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games. The 2030 edition is particularly significant as it marks the 100th anniversary of the Commonwealth Games. Approximately 15–17 sports are expected to feature, with India also pushing for Yoga as a medal discipline. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya called it 'a huge moment for Indian sports.'
