India and Israel signed a Bilateral Investment Agreement (BIA) in New Delhi on September 8, 2025. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich signed the agreement to strengthen bilateral investments and economic ties.

The treaty replaces an earlier 1996 agreement terminated in 2017 during India's review of investment treaties. It provides independent dispute resolution through arbitration, safeguards against expropriation, and ensures transparency. Current bilateral investment stands at $800 million. Both sides agreed to advance cooperation in innovation, infrastructure, financial regulation, and digital services.
