The Indian Coast Guard commenced the 10th edition of the National Level Pollution Response Exercise (NATPOLREX-X) on October 5-6, 2025, off the coast of Chennai, alongside the 27th National Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Plan (NOSDCP) meeting.

The biennial exercise tested India's national preparedness for marine oil spill incidents and inter-agency coordination under the NOSDCP framework. It featured over 100 national delegates and more than 40 foreign observers from 32 countries. The ICG deployed pollution response ships and aircraft equipped for maritime pollution control, demonstrating multi-tiered response capabilities.
