India MedTech Expo was presented as a major platform for highlighting India's capabilities in the medical technology and medical devices sector. The medical devices sector was described as having a market size of nearly USD 15 billion, with a projection of USD 30 billion by 2030. Another important linked development was that the Indian Council of Medical Research licensed 9 health technologies to industry partners under its Medical Innovations-Patent Mitra initiative. This resulted in 17 licensing deals in infectious disease diagnostics, immunodiagnostics and vaccine development. For static GK, the issue should be connected with public research, private industry, health innovation, self-reliant manufacturing and the Viksit Bharat 2047 goal.
