India won the inaugural Blind Women's T20 World Cup 2025, defeating Nepal by seven wickets in the final held at P Sara Oval, Colombo, Sri Lanka on November 24, 2025. India restricted Nepal to 114/5 and then chased down the target in just 12.1 overs with 7 wickets in hand. Phula Saren's match-winning innings of 44 off 27 balls was the highlight of the final. India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, defeating Sri Lanka, Australia, Nepal, USA, and Pakistan in the league phase, and Australia again in the semi-final. The tournament was co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka with fixtures in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Colombo. The Blind Women's T20 World Cup 2025 is the first-ever global cricket championship exclusively for women cricketers with visual impairment. Blind cricket uses a white plastic ball filled with ball bearings that rattle as it rolls, enabling players to track it by sound. Players are classified as B1 (totally blind), B2 (partially sighted), and B3 (limited vision) — teams must field a mix of these categories. The historic win represents a major milestone for para-sports inclusion and women's empowerment in India. The team subsequently visited BCCI headquarters in Mumbai to celebrate their achievement. This victory places India at the forefront of global blind cricket, building on the men's team's World Cup success, and underscores the need for greater institutional support, funding, and recognition for para-sports and disabled athletes in India.
