The government announced a ₹11 lakh crore ($125 billion) plan to build 17,000 km of high-speed, access-controlled expressways by 2033, aiming to expand the existing network fivefold. About 40% of the planned expressways are already under construction, with most expected to be completed by 2030.

The expressways will support speeds up to 120 km/h and significantly reduce logistics costs. Delhi also received an ₹803 crore boost under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for 140+ road and flyover upgrade projects. Rajasthan stands to benefit from the Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Jaipur expressway extensions.
