World Water Day observed on March 22, 2026 carries the global theme 'Water and Gender' — 'Where Water Flows, Equality Grows'. The Ministry of Jal Shakti will host the World Water Day Conclave 2026 on March 23 at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, under the sub-theme 'Industry for Water'. Union Minister C.R. Paatil will inaugurate the event attended by 700+ delegates. Key highlights include felicitation of Jal Shakti Hackathon winners and release of national water census reports. India has 18% of world population but only 4% of freshwater resources. Since September 2024, over 45 lakh water conservation structures have been created nationwide.
