Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata, delivered 'Androth' — the second in a series of eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Crafts (ASW SWCs) — to the Indian Navy on September 13, 2025. Named after Androth Island in the Lakshadweep Archipelago, the 77-metre vessel is the largest Indian naval warship propelled by a Diesel Engine-Waterjet propulsion combination.

The vessel features an indigenous 30 mm Naval Surface Gun manufactured by GRSE and boasts nearly 88% indigenous content. ASW SWCs are capable of full-scale sub-surface surveillance of coastal waters and coordinated anti-submarine operations with aircraft, supporting India's Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India vision in defence manufacturing.
