India Announces $680 Million Development Package for Mauritius; 7 MoUs Signed
During Mauritius PM Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam's first bilateral overseas visit in his current term (September 9-16, 2025), India announced a USD 680 million Special Economic Package for Mauritius covering infrastructure and maritime security. Seven MoUs/agreements were signed, covering science and technology, oceanography, capacity-building through Karmayogi Bharat, power-sector cooperation, small development projects, hydrography, and a telemetry, tracking and telecommunications station for satellites and launch vehicles.
PM Ramgoolam visited Mumbai, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Tirupati during his India tour.
