INS Ikshak, the third ship of the Survey Vessel Large (SVL) class, was commissioned on November 6, 2025, at Naval Base Kochi by Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi. The 3,400-tonne, 110-metre hydrographic survey ship was built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd., Kolkata, with over 80% indigenous content under Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

INS Ikshak is equipped with high-resolution multi-beam echo sounder, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), and four Survey Motor Boats (SMBs). It is the first ship of its class to offer dedicated women's accommodation. The vessel focuses on hydrographic survey operations and also serves as a HADR platform.
