Shailesh Chandra, President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, was elected President of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles (OICA) effective November 1, 2025. He is the first Indian to lead the global automotive body founded in 1919.

OICA's 36 member associations represent motor vehicle manufacturers across all continents. Under Chandra's leadership, OICA aims to strengthen international collaboration, support innovative automotive technologies, and promote environmentally sustainable practices. Chandra holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from IIT Varanasi and a Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship from Carnegie Mellon University.
