The PARAM Rudra supercomputer was launched at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna on December 26, 2025, marking the first PARAM RUDRA installation in Bihar. PARAM Rudra is a high-performance computing system developed under the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) using indigenous Rudra servers and a software stack promoting self-reliance in HPC technology.

The NSM is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), with C-DAC and IISc Bengaluru as implementing agencies. The mission aims to build a network of 24 supercomputers across India to support research in climate modelling, drug discovery, genomics, and national security.
