C.P. Radhakrishnan, the NDA nominee, was elected as the 15th Vice President of India on September 9, 2025, defeating INDIA bloc candidate Justice B. Sudershan Reddy. Radhakrishnan secured 452 first preference votes against 300 for Reddy, with 98.20% MP turnout (767 of 781 MPs voting; 15 invalid).

Born May 4, 1957, in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, Radhakrishnan was serving as Governor of Maharashtra before nomination. He was sworn in on September 12 by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, becoming Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
