Hockey India's centenary celebrations, launched on November 7 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi, continued on November 8, 2025. Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the event marking 100 years of Indian hockey (1925-2025).

Over 1,000 hockey matches were played simultaneously across 500 districts nationwide, involving more than 36,000 players. An official commemorative volume titled '100 Years of Indian Hockey' was released, chronicling the sport's journey from its first Olympic gold in 1928 to the Tokyo 2020 bronze.
