Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra finished eighth in the men's javelin throw final at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, with a best throw of 84.03 metres on his second attempt. This was the first time Chopra failed to finish in the top two of a major international competition since the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Sachin Yadav emerged as the brightest Indian performer, finishing fourth with a personal best of 86.27 metres. Trinidad and Tobago's Keshorn Walcott won gold with a season's best 88.16 metres, while Anderson Peters (87.38m) took silver and Curtis Thompson (86.67m) the bronze. The Championships ran from September 13-21, 2025, in Tokyo.
