The Indian Air Force celebrated its 93rd Foundation Day on October 8, 2025, with a grand ceremony at Hindon Air Base. The event featured a farewell to the iconic MiG-21 fighter jet, India's longest-serving combat aircraft that has been the backbone of the IAF fleet for decades.

A spectacular flypast included Rafale, Su-30MKI, C-17 Globemaster, and Apache Guardian helicopters, along with parades, air shows, and exhibitions showcasing the IAF's technological advancements. The IAF was established on October 8, 1932, during British rule. Rajasthan's Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Barmer air bases hold strategic importance in India's western air defence.
