The India BioEconomy Report (IBER) 2026, unveiled at BIRAC's 14th Foundation Day, reveals that India's bioeconomy reached $195.3 billion in 2025 — contributing 4.8% to GDP with 18% annual growth. BioIndustrial leads at $90.2 billion, followed by BioPharma ($64.5 billion), BioServices ($26 billion) and BioAgri ($14.6 billion). India now has 11,855 registered biotech startups with 1,780 added in 2025 alone. Over 150 Global Capability Centres employ 300,000+ professionals. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted the nearly 20-fold growth from $10 billion a decade ago. India targets a $300 billion bioeconomy by 2030 and $1 trillion by 2047.
