Exercise Trishul 2025 was a major tri-services military exercise linked to India’s western border. It brought together the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force to test India’s preparedness for integrated combat operations. Official Defence information states that the Indian Navy conducted the exercise as the lead service and that it commenced in early November 2025. The exercise area covered the creek and desert sectors of Rajasthan and Gujarat, along with maritime and amphibious operations in the North Arabian Sea.

For exam preparation, the issue matters because it connects defence preparedness, jointness and multi-domain operations. The exercise focused on interoperability of platforms and infrastructure, integration of networks across the Services, and stronger operational coordination among the three Services. Participation by the Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force and other central agencies also made it an example of inter-agency coordination, not just a routine military drill. It is also relevant for understanding national security preparedness and joint response capacity during crises.

Trishul also validated intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance procedures, electronic warfare and cyber warfare plans. Indian Navy carrier operations were conducted jointly with shore-based assets of the Indian Air Force, helping test joint procedures for air operations. The exercise also highlighted the effective use of indigenous systems in the context of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. For RAS and UPSC-style preparation, it can be linked with static GK on defence exercises, India’s western border, the strategic geography of Rajasthan-Gujarat, the theatre command debate, and the role of land-sea-air-cyber coordination in modern warfare.
