The International Purple Fest 2025 commenced in Goa from October 9-12, with the theme 'Universal Design and Inclusive Thinking'. The event was organised by the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of Goa, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the United Nations India.

The Fest drew over 10,000 delegates from more than 25 countries and 50,000 visitors. Three landmark initiatives were launched: an IELTS training handbook for persons with disabilities, a Recognition of Prior Learning programme for Indian Sign Language interpreters, and a new ASL/BSL training programme. The DI-verse Certification, India's first comprehensive disability inclusion certification, felicitated 17 companies for inclusive hiring and workplace accessibility.
