The Indian Army launched the Depot Integration Management Edition (DIME) digital platform on January 8, 2026. Developed jointly by the Indian Army and BISAG-N (Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics), DIME is expected to reduce manual paperwork by approximately 70% across army depot operations.

The platform digitises supply chain management, inventory tracking, and logistics coordination across the Army's vast network of depots. This is part of the Army's broader digital transformation under the Digital Indian Army initiative. The system integrates real-time data analytics to improve equipment maintenance scheduling and spare parts procurement.

DIME enables paperless workflows for indent processing, stock verification, and asset lifecycle management. The platform connects multiple depot locations through a centralised dashboard, allowing commanders to monitor supply status across formations in real time. The system also incorporates cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive logistics data from potential threats.

The initiative aligns with the Ministry of Defence's push for digital governance across all three services. BISAG-N, headquartered in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, has previously developed geospatial applications for multiple government departments. The DIME platform is expected to be rolled out in phases across all army depots nationwide, with full integration anticipated by mid-2027. Senior Army officials noted that the platform would significantly enhance operational readiness by ensuring timely availability of critical supplies and equipment to frontline units.
