On November 12, 2025, the Indian government officially declared the November 10 Red Fort car explosion a terrorist act. The Cabinet passed a resolution condemning the attack. The NIA took over the investigation from Delhi Police.

Investigators traced the vehicle to Umar Mohammed, a Pulwama-based doctor who worked at Al-Falah University. DNA analysis identified him as one of the car's occupants. The Faridabad terror module bust — involving the arrest of doctors and engineers with 3,000 kg of explosives — was linked to the broader investigation, exposing concerns about 'white-collar terrorism' by educated professionals.
