The Union Budget 2026-27 launched India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0, building on the first phase to create an end-to-end semiconductor ecosystem. The Modified Programme for Development of Semiconductor and Display Manufacturing Ecosystem received ₹8,000 crore for FY 2026-27. Under the ATMP/OSAT scheme, 9 units are supported with an investment of ₹11,000 crore and 3,000 jobs.

The Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme was enhanced from ₹22,919 crore to ₹40,000 crore. A Container Manufacturing Scheme of ₹10,000 crore and SME Growth Fund of ₹10,000 crore were also announced. The Micron Technology ATMP facility in Sanand, Gujarat — ₹22,516 crore investment — was highlighted as a milestone in India's semiconductor journey.
