Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated 125 strategically important infrastructure projects of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) from Ladakh on December 7, 2025 — the highest number of BRO projects launched simultaneously. The projects, valued at ₹5,000 crore, include 28 roads, 93 bridges, and 4 miscellaneous works across Ladakh, J&K, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Mizoram.

A key highlight was the 920-metre Shyok Tunnel on the Durbuk-Shyok-Daulat Beg Oldie Road along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The BRO has now built over 62,000 km of roads, 900+ bridges, and 19 airfields. These projects significantly enhance connectivity in border areas and support rapid troop deployment.
