The 13th edition of the India Skills Report (2026) was released in November 2025, showing India's overall employability rising to 56.35% from 54.81% in 2025. In a landmark finding, women employability reached 54%, surpassing men at 51.5% for the first time in five years.

Key findings include: India holds 16% of global AI talent with projections to reach 1.25 million by 2027; over 90% of employees use Generative AI tools; gig workforce projected at 23.5 million by 2030; and a global labour shortage of 85 million expected by 2030 where India can contribute a surplus of 45 million skilled professionals. Top employable states are Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.
