The Union Cabinet approved two major national highway projects: the construction of a 6-lane Nashik-Solapur-Akkalkot corridor in Maharashtra at a cost of ₹19,142 crore, and the widening of NH-326 in Odisha at ₹1,526.21 crore. These projects aim to strengthen regional connectivity and boost economic development.

The Maharashtra corridor is a 374 km greenfield access-controlled project on BOT (Toll) mode connecting Nashik, Ahilyanagar and Solapur, with links to major expressway corridors. The Odisha project upgrades the Mohana-Koraput section of NH-326 to a 2-lane road with paved shoulders. As per MoRTH's 2025 review, India's National Highway network spans 1,46,560 km, forming the country's primary arterial road network.
