Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the fourth edition of SEMICON India 2025 on September 2 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. India's first fully indigenous 32-bit space-grade microprocessor, Vikram 3201, developed by ISRO's Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL) in Chandigarh, was presented to the PM.

Vikram 3201 was validated on ISRO's SpaDeX Mission (PSLV-C60). It withstands temperatures from -55 degrees C to 125 degrees C and was manufactured without foreign intellectual property. PM Modi noted that ten semiconductor projects worth over $18 billion are now underway in India. The three-day event attracted over 20,750 attendees from 48 countries.
