The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) approved 22 new proposals worth ₹41,863 crore under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme. Cumulative approvals now total 46 approved applications with ₹54,567 crore investment across 11 states, strengthening India's electronics supply chain.

The scheme targets manufacturing of semiconductors, printed circuit boards, passive components, and display panels. The approved applications are expected to generate direct employment for around 51,000 people and significantly reduce India's electronics component import bill, currently estimated at over $35 billion annually. The approvals come alongside the PLI Scheme for IT Hardware and the India Semiconductor Mission.
