Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara revealed details of a uranium mining project in Khandela tehsil, Sikar district, Rajasthan, in an address to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) will invest nearly ₹3,000 crore in the project.

Uranium and associated minerals have been found across 1,086.46 hectares in the Khandela area, identified through collaboration between the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research (AMD) and the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). The project will generate 1,623 direct jobs with 80% reserved for local residents, significantly boosting socio-economic development in the region.
