The Union Cabinet approved Phase V-A of the Delhi Metro Rail Project, adding three new corridors with 13 stations (10 underground, 3 elevated) spanning 16.076 km at an estimated cost of ₹12,014.91 crore. The three corridors are: Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block (5.6 km), Inderlok to Indraprastha (8.3 km), and Tughlakabad to Terminal-1 IGI Airport (2.2 km).

The approval brings the total operational and under-construction Delhi Metro network to over 430 km, making it one of the largest metro systems in the world. The project is scheduled for completion by 2030. Phase V-A aims to reduce vehicular traffic on key arterial roads and improve last-mile connectivity to IGI Airport from South Delhi.
