The Industrial Transition Accelerator (ITA) released a report in November 2025 highlighting that India ranks third globally with a pipeline of 65 clean energy industrial projects, after China and the United States of America. The ITA report assessed the readiness and pipeline of clean energy industrial transition projects across major economies. India's strong ranking reflects significant investments and policy momentum in sectors such as green hydrogen, solar manufacturing, battery storage, electric vehicles, and renewable energy capacity expansion. The report underscores the effectiveness of India's production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes for solar panels and advanced chemistry batteries, as well as the National Green Hydrogen Mission launched in 2023. India's clean energy ambitions are also driven by its commitments under the Paris Agreement — achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030 and net zero by 2070.
