The Department of Posts launched '24 Speed Post' on March 17, 2026, a premium express delivery service guaranteeing next-day delivery across Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The service was unveiled by Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and MoS Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani. Key features include D+1 guaranteed delivery with OTP verification, real-time tracking, and full refunds for delays. A companion '48 Speed Post' service guarantees two-day delivery. Operations include dedicated processing windows at booking centres and priority air transmission via passenger flight cargo holds. This move positions India Post to compete with private courier services in the premium logistics segment.
