An explosion at Nowgam Police Station on the outskirts of Srinagar on the evening of November 14, 2025 (11:20 PM) killed nine people and injured 27-32 others. The dead included six police and forensic officials, two civil administrators, and one civilian.

The blast occurred while forensic and police teams were examining seized explosive materials during an investigation into a suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terror cell. The ammonium nitrate-based explosives had been confiscated earlier in November. DGP Nalin Prabhat declared it an accidental explosion. The J&K government announced ₹10 lakh compensation for families of the deceased and ₹1 lakh for the injured.
