Deadly Car Explosion Near Red Fort in Delhi Kills 11; Investigated as Terrorist Attack
A devastating car explosion occurred near the Red Fort in Delhi at 6:52 PM IST on November 10, 2025, killing 11 people and injuring several others. A white Hyundai i20, parked near the Red Fort for over three hours, detonated in slow-moving traffic near Gate 1 of the Red Fort Metro station.
Delhi Police invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). On November 12, the Indian government officially labelled the incident a terrorist act. CCTV footage showed the vehicle entering a parking area adjacent to Sunehri Masjid at 3:19 PM. The blast was suspected to involve Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP), according to the NIA chargesheet. The NIA took over the investigation.
