The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority lists Mumbai Metro Line 2B as a 23.643 km fully elevated corridor from D N Nagar to Mandale with 20 stations. The project is designed to improve connectivity between Mumbai's eastern and western suburbs and to link with existing and under-implementation rail and metro corridors.
MMRDA's current project page states that a dedicated depot is planned at Mandale over 31.4 hectares and that depot work is under construction. Its progress table, updated for 28 February 2026, records Mandale depot works as 99.32% complete. The depot should not be described as inaugurated or cited with unverified superlatives unless an official source confirms them.
