The 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, opened on February 7, 2026. The tournament featured 20 teams competing across venues in both nations from February 7 to March 8. The opening match was played between Netherlands and Pakistan at SSC Cricket Ground. India, the defending champions, opened their campaign with a marquee night fixture against the United States at Mumbai's iconic Wankhede Stadium.

India went on to win their third T20 World Cup title and second consecutive, defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final — becoming the first team to win consecutive T20 World Cups and the first to win the title at home. The Indian host venues were Ahmedabad, Chennai, New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
