Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 8, 2026, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth around ₹33,500 crore in Delhi, coinciding with International Women's Day. He inaugurated two new Delhi Metro corridors — the Majlis Park-Maujpur Babarpur (Pink Line, ~12.3 km) and Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park (Magenta Line, ~9.9 km). Foundation stones were laid for three new corridors under Phase V-A covering about 16.1 km.

PM Modi also inaugurated 2,722 newly built flats and laid the foundation stone for 6,632 additional flats worth ₹15,200 crore under the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) redevelopment plan spanning Sarojini Nagar, Netaji Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, and Sriniwaspuri colonies for central government employees.
