UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan paid an official visit to India on January 19, 2026, at PM Modi's invitation. This was his fifth visit to India in a decade and third as UAE President. The two leaders agreed to double bilateral trade to $200 billion by 2032.

Key agreements included: a 10-year LNG Supply Agreement between HPCL and ADNOC Gas for 0.5 million tonnes/year starting 2028; a Letter of Intent for a Strategic Defence Partnership; exploration of 'Digital Embassies'; and discussions on UAE partnership for the Dholera Special Investment Region in Gujarat, including an international airport, greenfield port, smart township, and energy infrastructure. The visit reinforced the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in 2017.
