Siliserh Lake in Alwar district, Rajasthan, has been designated as a Ramsar site, becoming India's 96th wetland of international importance. The lake, built in 1845 during the rule of Maharaja Vinay Singh by constructing an embankment on a tributary of the Ruparel River, covers approximately 7 sq km in a semi-arid zone near Sariska Tiger Reserve.

The wetland supports 149 bird species and 17 mammal species, including the vulnerable Egyptian Vulture, endangered Tiger, Indian Pangolin, Leopard, Black Stork, and Sambar. With this inclusion, Rajasthan now has 5 Ramsar Sites. India also designated Kopra Jalashay in Chhattisgarh as the 95th Ramsar site simultaneously. Siliserh Lake was originally built to supply drinking water to Alwar city.
