Employer Obligations — Section 19

Every employer shall:

  1. Provide a safe working environment — including safety from persons coming into contact with the employee at the workplace
  2. Display at any conspicuous place in the workplace — penal consequences of sexual harassment and information on ICC constitution
  3. Organise workshops and awareness programmes for employees regularly — including orientation for ICC members
  4. Provide necessary facilities to ICC/LCC for dealing with the complaint — including information required for complaint
  5. Assist the aggrieved woman if she chooses to file complaint under IPC/BNS
  6. Cause initiation of action under IPC/BNS against the respondent if the finding warrants criminal prosecution
  7. Treat sexual harassment as a misconduct in the service rules and initiate action accordingly
  8. Monitor the timely submission of reports by ICC
