RIICO: Industrial Area Infrastructure

Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation is the nodal agency for industrial land development and investment promotion in Rajasthan. Established in 1969 and headquartered in Jaipur, RIICO operates as a state government undertaking under the Industries Department.

Core Functions

RIICO performs five principal functions:

  1. Land acquisition and allotment: Identifies, acquires, develops, and allots industrial plots.
  2. Infrastructure development: Roads, power, water supply, drainage within industrial areas.
  3. Financial assistance: Term loans to industries for land, building, and plant & machinery.
  4. Investment facilitation: Single-window clearance through SIPB (State Investment Promotion Board).
  5. Export promotion: Industrial parks and export-oriented zones.

RIICO's industrial areas span all 50 districts of Rajasthan, with major concentrations in Jaipur (Sitapura, Malviya Nagar, Vishwakarma), Alwar (Bhiwadi, Khushkhera, Tapukara), Jodhpur (Boranada, Mandore), Kota (Ranpur, Vigyan Nagar), and Bhilwara (Gulabpura, Hamirgarh).

JNIP — Jodhpur Nimbahera Industrial Park

The Jodhpur Nimbahera Industrial Park (JNIP) is a major RIICO-developed greenfield project in Jodhpur district, targeting the food processing, logistics, and defense manufacturing sectors. It is aligned with the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), enabling rail connectivity for bulk goods. See Topic #36 for details on the WDFC alignment with Rajasthan's industrial geography.
