Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY – Ayushman Vay Vandana (Health Cover for Senior Citizens 70+)

Objective: Provide free health cover of Rs 5 lakh per year to all senior citizens aged 70 years and above, irrespective of their socio-economic status. Launched: October 29, 2024 by PM Modi, as expansion of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY. Key Features: • Rs 5 lakh annual health cover per family (additional Rs 5 lakh top-up for existing PM-JAY beneficiaries) • Covers approximately 2,000 medical procedures across 27 specialties including cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics • Pre-existing conditions covered from day one, no waiting period • Universal eligibility — no income limit; applicable to all citizens 70+ • Distinct Ayushman Vay Vandana Card issued to beneficiaries • Registration via Ayushman App, www.beneficiary.nha.gov.in, toll-free 14555, or empanelled hospitals Target: 6 crore senior citizens in 4.5 crore families. December 2025 Milestone: Over 96.73 lakh Ayushman Vay Vandana cards created across all States/UTs. 7.89 lakh hospital admissions worth Rs 1,741 crore authorized.

उद्देश्य: 70 वर्ष और उससे अधिक आयु के सभी वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को सामाजिक-आर्थिक स्थिति की परवाह किए बिना ₹5 लाख प्रतिवर्ष का निःशुल्क स्वास्थ्य कवर प्रदान करना। शुभारंभ: 29 अक्टूबर 2024, आयुष्मान भारत PM-JAY के विस्तार के रूप में। मुख्य विशेषताएँ: • प्रति परिवार ₹5 लाख वार्षिक स्वास्थ्य कवर (मौजूदा PM-JAY लाभार्थियों के लिए अतिरिक्त ₹5 लाख) • हृदयरोग, ऑन्कोलॉजी, ऑर्थोपेडिक्स सहित 27 विशेषज्ञताओं में लगभग 2,000 चिकित्सा प्रक्रियाएँ • पहले दिन से पूर्व-मौजूदा बीमारियाँ कवर, कोई प्रतीक्षा अवधि नहीं • सार्वभौमिक पात्रता — कोई आय सीमा नहीं; 70+ सभी नागरिकों पर लागू • लाभार्थियों को विशिष्ट आयुष्मान वय वंदना कार्ड जारी • आयुष्मान ऐप, www.beneficiary.nha.gov.in, टोल-फ्री 14555, या सूचीबद्ध अस्पतालों से पंजीकरण लक्ष्य: 4.5 करोड़ परिवारों में 6 करोड़ वरिष्ठ नागरिक। दिसंबर 2025 मील का पत्थर: सभी राज्यों/केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में 96.73 लाख से अधिक आयुष्मान वय वंदना कार्ड बनाए गए। ₹1,741 करोड़ मूल्य के 7.89 लाख अस्पताल भर्ती अधिकृत।
