REET Level 1 study notes

Conjugation — Dhatu Roop, tense forms (Sanskrit)

Dhatu-roop is the change of a Sanskrit verb root according to person, number and tense or mood. At the primary level, children first recognize common parasmaipada roots such as पठ्, गम्, कृ and दा through the nine-cell grid of three persons and three numbers, especially in लट्, लङ् and लृट् forms. The current REET Level-I syllabus also names lakar transformation including विधिलिङ्, but the classroom focus remains gradual recognition rather than memorising every table at once.
