REET Level 1 study notes
Travel for REET Level 1 EVS
Travel at the primary stage means moving from one place to another for school, work, market, hospital, festivals, relatives, or daily needs. Children classify transport by where it moves: land, water, or air; learn north, south, east, and west through the rising and setting sun; and draw simple route maps with landmarks rather than scale. Safety is taught through demonstration and role play, such as safe crossing, sitting properly, holding a railing, and staying with a trusted adult.

- The four main directions taught at this stage are north, south, east and west, and they are introduced through the rising and setting sun.
- A primary route map uses easy landmarks like a tree, shop, temple or bus stop, not exact scale or graph paper.
- Safety habits — safe crossing, sitting properly, holding a railing, staying with a trusted adult — are taught through demonstration and short role play.
