Name Origin
Kota district is named after its headquarters town, Kota.
Kota Founding
The DCHB attributes Kota's founding to Jait Singh, who attacked and ousted Bhils of the Koteah clan east of the Chambal.
Hadoti Region
Hadoti is described as the south-eastern Rajasthan region comprising Bundi, Baran, Jhalawar and Kota.
Princely State
